After reading Quinn, Chapter 1, answer the following questions:
1. Who invented, in which country and what year:
a. The first “true modern computer”
b. telegraph
c. telephone
d. transmission of radio signals
2. Briefly describe three ways in which society changed by adopting the telephone.
3. Berners-Lee decide to build the World Wide Web on top of the TCP/IP protocol. Why did this decision help ensure the success of the Web?

Part 2.

Find a news article that appears in a magazine, newspaper, or online news publication (one with a high degree of credibility) about an ethical issue that a) involves computer technology, or b) involves a technology company. Write at least 250 – 300 words to summarize the facts and the ethical issue.
